We’re almost halfway through the season and it gets crazier every single week. This week had no shortage of excitement, here’s your recap.

Offensive Player of The Week

The Cincinnati Bengals walked into a rowdy environment on the road to play the Baltimore Ravens, who were without superstar QB Lamar Jackson. It was a slow first half for the Bengals, going into halftime down 13-0, but they flipped the script in the second half and won the game 35-13.

Bengals QB Joe Burrow is this weeks offensive player of the week after posting 292 passing yards, 4 touchdowns, and completed 73% of his passes. Despite some of the negative conversations around Burrow and the Bengals, they wouldn’t be in the good position they are without him.

Defensive Player of The Week

The Minnesota Vikings have been known for their stout defense this season, featuring tons of talent, where really everybody is capable of having a standout game. This week that standout game came from Vikings linebacker Blake Cashman.

Cashman had 12 tackles and 2 sacks in the win over the Indianapolis Colts, no doubt a huge factor in the somewhat narrow 16-10 victory.

Best Team of The Week

The Bengals are this weeks best team, no team has ever gone into halftime down 13-0 and then outscored their opponent 35-0 in the second half, that was until the Bengals just did it. As mentioned before, the first half was rough for the offense, however the defense was holding things together making it a game still well within their reach. Once the offense picked things up in the second half the team as a whole looked spectacular.

Worst Team of The Week

This weeks worst team is of course the Baltimore Ravens. The Ravens became the first team to get outscored 35-0 in the second half after leading 13-0 in the first half. The Ravens are of course without QB Lamar Jackson, but Tyler Huntley has been a reliable backup QB option in the past for the Ravens, but he did not look the slightest bit reliable in this game. The Ravens will be looking forward to get Jackson back next week to get the team back on track.

MVP Race

At third place in the MVP race is Buffalo Bills QB Josh Allen. The Bills were on a bye week this week so there isn’t anything new to discuss with Josh Allen, he’s been excellent up to this point of the season and is easily an MVP candidate.

At second place is San Francisco 49ers QB Brock Purdy. Purdy has been the frontrunner of the MVP race for multiple weeks, but after a really disappointing performance against the Atlanta Falcons he has lost the frontrunner spot. Purdy threw for 288 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions in the 29-20 loss to the Falcons.

At first place is Detroit Lions QB Jared Goff. Goff has been a very under the radar QB this year, he has played phenomenal to this point with 1,788 passing yards, 14 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Goff is going under the radar due to some of the struggles the team has had defensively, which had the Lions sitting at a 3-2 record before their win over the Green Bay Packers this week, moving them up to 4-2, and now people want to talk about Goff more.
