NFL week 9 wrapped up with a great overtime game in Kansas City where the Chiefs defeated the visiting Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Minnesota Vikings beat the Indianapolis Colts to keep their great season going and make the Colts playoff push a little more challenging. On Halloween night the New York Jets took down the Houston Texans which featured a crazy 1 hand catch from Garrett Wilson. Now Lets get into the worst and the best performances from the week.

The Worst

At number three is Colts running back Jonathon Taylor who played a very poor game and didn’t really get a chance to help his team win.

Taylor had 13 rushing attempts for 48 yards, 3.7 yards per carry and 0 touchdowns, overall a very lackluster performance for a player like him.

In all fairness to Taylor, the Vikings run defense has been very good, and he didn’t get as many running opportunities as he could have had because Flacco had 34 passing attempts, but Taylor still needs to find a way to get things going on 13 rush attempts.

At number two Jacksonville Jaguars running back Tank Bigsby, who has been very good lately but played poorly against the Eagles so he didn’t really help the team win.

Bigsby had 8 rushing attempts for only 22 yards, 2.8 yards per carry and 0 touchdowns. This performance was very bad compared to his previous games recently, and for the fact people thought he stole the starting running back spot from Travis Etienne he didn’t seem to prove it.

In all fairness to Bigsby, he did only get 8 rushing attempts especially since the game got out of hand really fast and the Jaguars were forced to pass more, so he really didn’t get many opportunities to get things going.

At number one is Cleveland Browns quarterback Jameis Winston, who played way worse than he did in his first start of the season against the Baltimore Ravens, and this resulted in the Browns getting blown out by the Los Angeles Chargers.

Winston completed 26 passes on 46 attempts for 235 yards, 5.1 yards per attempt, 1 touchdown and 3 interceptions. In the end those 3 interceptions are going to kill a team and very rarely can any team overcome that.

In all fairness to Winston the Chargers defense has been good under new head coach Jim Harbaugh, and the Browns don’t exactly have really good receivers for him to throw to ever since they traded Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills.

The Best

At number three is Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who had a great game but the Seahawks still came up short against the Los Angeles Rams in overtime.

Smith-Njigba had 7 catches for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns, this performance helped the team keep it close with the Rams and is by far the best performances of his young career

Smith-Njigba has proven to be a really good receiver the Seahakws can depend on especially when the aging Tyler Lockett eventually retires, the Seahawks are going to have very good receivers at all times for a long time.

At number two is Ravens QB Lamar Jackson who had a great bounce back game against the Denver Broncos after the disappointing loss to the Browns the previous week.

Jackson completed 16 passes on 19 attempts for 280 yards, 14.7 yards per attempt, 3 touchdowns and 0 interceptions. Overall a great performance to bolster his case for another MVP even more.

If Jackson keeps playing the way he has been he could very easily win MVP which would make it back to back years and his third MVP of his career, the Ravens have built a great team around him and with him as the QB their offense seems nearly unstoppable.

At number one is Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley who had another amazing performance which featured a hurdle like nobody has ever seen before.

Barkley had 27 rushing attempts for 159 yards, 5.9 yards per carry and 1 touchdown, he also had 3 catches for 40 yards and 1 touchdown, on one of those catches he not only juked a guy, but spun around another, and then turned around backwards and hurdled over somebody trying to tackle him, something nobody has seen before and it made the entire team go crazy.

Barkley has once again proven that the Giants should not have let him go and is a great addition to the Eagles offense, with him the team becomes a million times better than it was without him which is insane because the offense was still very good beforehand.

Looking Forward to Week 10

Week 10 is going to kick off with a great Thursday Night Football game in Baltimore where the Ravens will be hosting the Cincinnati Bengals this game is featuring the current MVP front-runner Lamar Jackson and on the Bengals, QB Joe Burrow who would probably be the MVP front-runner over Jackson if his team had a winning record, tonight the Bengals have the opportunity to get back into playoff talks going from a 4-5 record to a 5-5 record, or the push will be even harder if they fall to 4-6. Sunday night will feature a big game in Houston where the Texans will be hosting the Detroit Lions, the Texans are trying to overcome their many key injuries but the Lions have been so good that it is way more likely that they will win. On Monday night the week will wrap up with the Los Angeles Rams hosting the Miami Dolphins, the Dolphins are desperate for some wins but the Rams also need to keep winning if they want to win their very tight division.
